Get your print version of Productive Magazine for just a few bucks!

May 7th, 2009

When I published the first issue of the Productive Magazine, many people asked about a print version. I went with Lulu and published a print version there. However, it turned out to be quite expensive.

Enter Magcloud - the new service of publishing print magazines

I signed up for Magcloud (as per suggestion of several of my readers) and posted both issues of the magazine there and they both turned out to be pretty affordable (and full color at that!), just have a look:

Productive Magazine Issue #2 is only $7 bucks!

So at a cost of a beer you can get a nicely color-printed version of your favorite magazine.

Productive Magazine Issue #1 is only $9 bucks!

This one is two bucks more expensive than issue #2 because it’s bigger in size. Still, three cups of coffee and it’s yours to have.

My question to you my dear readers - would you buy a printed version of the Productive Magazine? Does it even make sense for me to set it up for you? Do you print the magazine by yourself?

4000+ downloads in the first 24 hours - issue #2 hits it!

April 29th, 2009

It’s been crazy 24 hours for the Productive Magazine! Just in the first 24 hours more than 4,000 people have downloaded our magazine and the response has been great so far, looking forward to more blog posts and tweets. Hope you can help us spread the word even more!

When I launched #2 of the magazine, I thought it’d be cool to beat the issue #1 2x times and reach a total of 60K downloads… and although we’re still far from the goal, we’ve beaten the first 24 hours of the first issue 4 times, as the first issue was downloaded “only” 1K times during its first launch day

Please help us spread the word to achieve our goal of 60K downloads! Thanks!

And if you didn’t get your copy of the magazine, download it now it’s only 2.5 MB and it’s free!

Here are the handful of blogs that helped so far:

I invite you to follow me on twitter, blog and tweet about the magazine and help us spread the word! After all we’re doing the magazine for your, for free and we’re hoping you’ll find it useful. Thanks!

GTDSummit stuff - Interview with David Allen by Lifehacking.nl

April 6th, 2009

My very good friend Frank Meeuwsen of “What’s the Next Action Blog” fame and now one of the chief editors of Lifehacking.nl blog (the biggest community of “Lifehackers” in the Netherlands, aka Holland) did a great interview with David Allen before the GTD Summit in San Francisco. Enjoy:

The intro by Frank is in Dutch, but the rest is in English, so no worries.

Spring cleaning at the Productive Magazine

April 1st, 2009

I came back from the GTD Summit in San Francisco and the Productive Magazine #2 is not ready yet due to some technical problems we’ve been experiencing… and I’m really sorry for that.

As I hate being late or overdue with things and we’re long overdue with #2, I decided to do some cleaning and design the Productive Magazine Editorial Processes over again and make sure we can deliver each issue of the magazine on a regular basis.

Shorter but regular (monthly as the ultimate goal)

I’ve heard voices over at the Summit that they’d rather read a shorter magazine but on a regular basis than a longer one every few months. I definitely share this opinion and let me tell you, I think we’ll be on the right track with PM #3. The next issue will be due sometime in May and hopefully #4 and next ones will be as regular as ever and issued every month.

Productive Magazine Team is growing!

One the side note - our Productive Magazine Team is growing - apart from Me and my assistant Delfina, Lori Anderson and Dustin Wax (of Lifehack.org fame) have volunteered to participate and let me prepare each issue for you. If you also would like to volunteer and help me out, make sure to contact me.

How did I design the processes for the Productive Magazine #3 and beyond?

While I can’t reveal all the details yet (I’ll have to test them and really see what works and what doesn’t) I’ll be happy to let you know in the future posts about the process, for now just have a look at the Mind Map I did in the Freemind app on my Mac:

Please let me know in the comments, what you liked, didn’t like and would love to see in the future issues of the Productive Magazine and which format would be the best for you?

P.S. The issue #2 is almost finished and should be out any day now. Again, sorry for the delay!

Meet the Editor and Nozbe 2.0 at the GTD Summit in San Francisco

March 5th, 2009

I would like you to join me in San Francisco between March 11-13 (in a week!) for the GTDsummit organized by David Allen, the “father” of Getting Things Done.

Meet me and Nozbe during the first GTD Summit

There have been very few times when the improved productivity of organizations and the people within them has been so critical, or when own personal focus and control been so challenged as today. As we have to think about “doing more with less” and working “smarter not harder,” the use of productivity methods that really work has never been so crucial.

This coming March 11-13, I will be joining best selling author and executive coach David Allen at the GTD Summit in San Francisco. David is the author of “Getting Things Done”, often referred to as “GTD”, which has sold more than one million copies in a hundred countries.

The GTD methodology is in high demand. It is being replicated in more than a hundred software applications, buzzed about in hundreds of blogs, and incorporated into the professional development curricula of dozens of global corporations. I am inviting you to learn and apply what David Allen, other business leaders and I have to say about “Getting Things Done” in challenging times.

I think you’ll find something at the Summit that will inspire, motivate, and advance your ability to stay focused and clear in a potentially overwhelming and uncertain world. You’ll be able to network, explore more options, and get “out of the weeds” with some elevated perspectives.

35% discount admission fee for Productive Magazine readers!

As part of my network of friends I’ve been authorized to extend to you a special discount of 35% (more than $800) off the Summit fee.

To register just contact us and we’ll send you the discount code

I will be joining David as a panelist during the summit and also Nozbe will be joining the David Allen Company as a Sponsor and Exhibitor – make sure to stop by our booth!

Nozbe Booth – meet me in person, watch a presentation of Nozbe 2.0 beta and receive a gift from Nozbe!

I hope that you will join us and I’ll see you there!

P.S. One more thing – as a panelist and speaker, David let me invite three friends at a very very hefty discount – if you want one – contact me – only the first three people will be given this opportunity.
